Themed movie nights are back, and what better way to kick off “Winter” than with our very first GVSC CLASSIC EVENT: Outdoor Movie on the Lawn! Get ready as we show the 2005 critically acclaimed, award-winning film “Brokeback Mountain.”
Join us in the Great Outdoors at our very own GVSC campsite in the home backyard of Board Chair’s Barrie Aikle. The weather will be nice and crisp so wear a jacket or sweater, and bring a blanket or lawn chair as we sit amongst the camping tents watching the film projected on an outdoor screen. Enjoy some hot popcorn and create your own s’mores during intermission over our very own fire pit. Drinks are BYOB so bring your favorite liquor, wine, or beer, and feel free to bring some snacks to share. Can’t wait to see all you Winter Cowboys there for what’s sure to be another GVSC Classic night out!
Admission is FREE to event. RSVP on Eventbrite if attending the event and drinks are BYOB so bring your favorite liquor, wine, or beer.
In 1963, rodeo cowboy Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) and ranch hand Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) are hired by rancher Joe Aguirre (Randy Quaid) as sheep herders in Wyoming. One night on Brokeback Mountain, Jack makes a drunken pass at Ennis that is eventually reciprocated. Though Ennis marries his longtime sweetheart, Alma (Michelle Williams), and Jack marries a fellow rodeo rider (Anne Hathaway), the two men keep up their tortured and sporadic affair over the course of 20 years.
